TECH PANEL :: When is a firewall not a firewall? When it's an 'application delivery controller'

Hi Etechnews Today,

Thank you for your continued support of The Reg Tech Panel. We have
a new project, which we'll love your input on...

When is a firewall not a firewall?
When it's an 'application delivery controller'

Higher business transaction rates along with trends in mobile
computing, remote access and digital interaction with customers is
putting increasingly more stress on many organisations' business
systems from both a security and QoS management perspective.

Are you seeing this in your organisation? If so what kind of
technology can help? And as you review requirements, does it make
sense to put firewall, load-balancing and other application
performance functions into the same box? Purveyors of ADC solutions
such as F5, Citrix, Barracuda and others believe so, but what do you
think?

We'd like your opinion on this and related matters in our latest
Reader Survey, which you can get to here:

We appreciate your input.
Many Thanks
