Legal Piracy: Antigua's Desperate, Fearless Ultimatum (21:51)
About six years ago, the World Trade Organization sided with the itty-
bitty Caribbean island of Antigua on its claim that the United States'
ban on overseas remote gaming violated international trade agreements.
The WTO upheld its ruling last winter, confirming once and for all that
the island could suspend its obligations to certain U.S. intellectual
property rights.

Today's Story Highlights
Indie Games Play Starring Role at Gamescom 2013
Indie games and release dates for next-generation console games are
among the big announcements that have dominated at the Gamescom
conference in Cologne, Germany, this week. While the upcoming consoles,
slated to be released this holiday season, have been discussed in
detail, however -- including the games for each system -- Microsoft
stopped short of revealing the release date for its Xbox One.

Brazil Proposes Laws to Outlaw Foreign Data Storage
Brazil has proposed new laws that would force e-businesses selling to
Brazil-based consumers to store personal data about said customers on
local servers. Google and Facebook have raised objections to the plan,
saying that such requirements would, in the words of Facebook Brazil,
"entail huge costs and inefficiencies in online business in the
country."

Google Puts Waze Traffic Data on the Map
Google on Tuesday announced that it is incorporating real-time traffic
data from Waze into its popular Google Maps mobile application. "Users
of Google Maps for Mobile will now benefit from real time incident
reports from Waze users," explained Google's Brian McClendon. "This
means when Wazers report accidents, construction, road closures and
more, the updates will also appear on the Google Maps app."

Gotta Access Linux Files? Paragon ExtFS Delivers the Goods
ExtFS is a cross-platform application that can make using Linux much
easier in multiple-OS platforms. As much as I try to stay exclusively in
the Linux OS world, every so often a work situation arises that puts the
comfort zone of staying with Linux to the test. When I absolutely must
cross the Great Divide, Paragon's Universal File System Driver in ExtFS
comes to my rescue.

Is There Gold in Them Thar Cupertino Hills?
"They just gotta have that gold," warbled Jose Feliciano in the theme
song to the 1969 movie Mckenna's Gold, but those very same lyrics might
well be the theme for recent media coverage of the forthcoming line of
iPhones. Speculation is rife that Apple will include a gold-colored
iPhone, or at least one with champagne-colored trim, among its new
lineup.
