Putting Enterprise Risk Under the Microscope (36:54)
Recent developments in the cybersecurity landscape have heightened
interest in accurately anticipating and understanding risk, and using
that knowledge to better manage organizations. Enterprises are better
delivering risk assessment and, one hopes, defenses, in the current
climate of challenging cybersecurity. Nation-state types of threats may
have a very serious impact on organizations.

Today's Story Highlights

If You Like Guitar Hero, You'll Love Working Out?
The creators of the Guitar Hero video game franchise are looking to put
down the plastic guitars and get pumped up instead. Specifically,
RedOctane founders Kai and Charles Huang are teaming up with OpenLink
founder Coleman Fung to launch Blue Goji, a new interactive fitness
company. The company's mission is to transform gameplay into something
that can help players get fit.

Hackers Demand Ransom for Hijacked Androids
Ransomware has made the jump from personal computers to the Android
world. Android.FakeAV.C, a new breed of ransomware, has turned up in
Asia -- almost half of it in India and Indonesia -- according to an
alert by Bitdefender security researcher Liviu Arsene. Mobile ransomware
works much like its PC kin. In a PC, a malware program seizes control of
a computer and demands a ransom for its release.

5 Ways to Improve Your Privacy Online
It wasn't long after the Internet came into widespread use that online
privacy became a growing concern. After all, anytime people are
connected through their computers and sharing resources online, there's
the potential for prying and abuse. Such concerns were compounded with
the arrival of social networks, online banking and, of course, malware
-- among other points of potential weakness.

Couchbase's Bob Wiederhold: Riding High on Big Data With NoSQL
NoSQL might well be called "the little database engine that could." It
is quietly proving it is on track as Big Data transitions to cloud-based
data storage and management. NoSQL is increasingly considered a viable
alternative to relational databases, but it is still a relatively small
category in a growing world of database technologies.

Hacking Autos: Mischief Without Motive
A couple of white hat security experts have shown how hackers could take
control of an automobile's steering, braking and other operations
through the vehicle's on-board computer. Charlie Miller, a security
engineer at Twitter, and Chris Valasek of security firm IOActive,
demonstrated how they could control the brakes, steering, horn and more
in a Toyota Prius.
