BubblePod lets you shoot 360º images

Have you heard about the BubblePod before? If you answered in the negative, here is a quick introduction to the BubblePod. The BubblePod functions as a smartphone accessory which will be able to deliver flawless 360º images in a matter of seconds, and ever since it was launched over on the famous crowd funding site Kickstarter, it managed to hit its funding goal with a grand total of 12 days left on the clock. Available at £20 a pop, the BubblePod will basically let you capture the entire scene around you, in perfect high-res 360º media to boot.

The BubblePod might not seem like much at first glance, and I guess you could say that some others around you might even wonder just what the heck is it? It so happens that the BubblePod comes across as a stylish clockwork turntable which will be able to grip and rotate your smartphone in a jiffy, and you ought to make full use of the accompanying free BubblePix App in order to have it deliver stunning 360º photographs in high resolution.

Since it has already secured the minimum amount of funding, BubblePix (the people behind the BubblePod) will be able to cast their aspirations on delivering the BubblePod to their faithful backers this coming October, while offering additional stretch goals that might just send your adrenaline pumping. So far, the announced stretch goal happens to be a wide-angle camera lens, and when you pair that up with the BubblePod, you end up with an incredible 360º x 125º image capture.

Tom Lawton, BubblePod inventor, shared,”People are increasingly using their smartphones rather than traditional cameras, and the BubblePod gives you those high quality images without having to break the bank. We are astounded by the positive response, and it’s fantastic that we’ve hit our funding target so quickly. A massive thank you to every one who has backed, supported and given us your feedback, we could not have done it without you”. Would you pick up the BubblePod for your own use?

F.R.E.D. Flashing Roadside Emergency Disk

There is a saying that goes something along the lines of "you can never smell an accident coming", which is pretty apt a description. After all, how many of us are able to foretell an accident (I am referring to normal folk, unlike those with some extra-sensory perception or possess the gift of clairvoyance)? Since it is better to be safe than sorry, all drivers should always take the extra precaution of ensuring that their vehicles are equipped with the basic tools like some jumper cables just in case the battery dies, or a tire replacement kit for those flat tire moments. The thing is, whenever you decide to pull over and see what is wrong with your car, you would do well to ensure other motorists are able to see you. This is where the $14.99 F.R.E.D. Flashing Roadside Emergency Disk will be able to help.

The F.R.E.D. Flashing Roadside Emergency Disk boasts of lateral illumination that delivers great visibility, and the light itself can be seen at up to 1 mile away, now how about that? There is also a magnetic back that attaches itself to metal surfaces, and with a single push of the button (which is all too tempting), it will rotate through the entire gamut of the light’s functions. Not only that, the F.R.E.D. Flashing Roadside Emergency Disk is here to stay as it can float on water, and is capable of withstanding up to 10,000 lb of weight. It is powered by a trio of AAA batteries that should keep it going for up to 38 hours, so make sure you have spares in tow always.

Handibot – the iPower Tool of the Future?

In high school, I was the girl that didn’t take home economics. I took wood shop, and still remember the day my friends and I got caught duct taping a circular saw to a railing to use as a make shift table saw. Yes, I’m lucky I still have all my fingers and both eyes, I eventually passed that class, but I never made more than a toothbrush holder. Power tools, my how the times are changing.

Check out this award winning Kickstarter project, the Handibot,  an app controlled, robotic power tool that is portable, digitally-controlled and used for cutting, drilling, carving, and many other useful and creative machining operations. This Handibot tool is actually run from a smartphone or tablet, or even a  PC and is useful for the do-it-yourselfer, or the professional for both creative and precision work.

The Handibot uses something called CNC technology, and if that term is unfamiliar to you then just think of the Handibot  as a ’3D Cutter’ that will allow you to cut, drill, and carve in wood, plastic, and aluminum with computer-controlled precision and repeatability. Ahh.. so much better than a circular saw and duct tape.

Simply purchase the job appropriate app and download it to your smartphone or tablet and input your desired settings, click the load button, thereby sending the info to your Handibot which will in turn signal you with a blinking warning light, letting you know you can squeeze the start button and let the magic begin. So let your creativity flow, and be one of the first to have a Handibot for around 2400 bucks. Head over to kickstarter.com to watch a video, learn more about this amazing tool, or snag one for yourself.
