| Verizon launches Viva Movil offshoot | With the help of actress/singer Jennifer Lopez as chief creative officer, Verizon announced on Wednesday that it will launch Viva Movil, a mobile brand specifically aimed at the Hispanic community. Debuting on June 15 with an inaugural store in New York City, Viva Movil will enable customers to purchase handsets, phone services, and mobile accessories online as well. The company is also aiming to open 15 additional stores later this year, in cities like Miami and Los Angeles. Verizon unveiled the news during this week's CTIA mobile conference in Las Vegas.
