Virtual Testing Trims Real World Costs and Delivery Times (23:58)
"We have to provide better and faster services to our customers every
week and every month. We mostly had problems on issues such as the
accessibility, authorization, downtime, and private data for reaching
the other third party's infrastructures," said Hasan Yukselten, test and
release manager for TTNET. "So we needed virtualization on our test
systems and we needed automation for getting fast deployment."

Today's Story Highlights

Chinese Hackers Back in Action Against US, Says Mandiant
China and Iran were accused last week of renewing their cyberattacks on
U.S. computer systems after a brief hiatus. A gang of Chinese hackers
allegedly affiliated with the country's People's Liberation Army has
resumed infiltrating U.S. computer systems after making a strategic
withdrawal earlier this year, according to cybersecurity firm Mandiant.

European Commission Probes Apple's Tactics
The European Commission is taking a closer look at whether Apple is
engaging in unfair sales practices. The EC, which is the executive
branch of the European Union, sent a questionnaire last week to several
European mobile network operators probing Apple's distribution terms --
specifically, whether those terms preclude rivals from offering a better
sales deal.

One Small Step for NASA, One Giant Leap for Open Source
"Space: the final frontier." These may be the opening words of the Star
Trek series so loved by geeks far and wide, but lately, they've been on
the tip of more Linux bloggers' tongues than ever. Why? Because Linux
recently scored a major victory some 230 miles up in the sky.
Specifically, Windows got the big heave-ho from the International Space
Station.

Nothing Nutty About Acorn 4's Powerful, Affordable Image Editor
Acorn 4's tagline says all you need to know about the app. It's "The
Image Editor for Humans." Image editors are like a new pair of shoes.
You have to walk in them awhile before they get comfortable. With this
latest version of Acorn -- the first major overhaul since 2011 -- author
Gus Mueller keeps that comfort period short and sweet.

Xbox One vs. Shield: Evolution vs. Revolution
There is an interesting battle forming between the most powerful game
console with the most potential, Microsoft's Xbox One, and Nvidia's
Shield -- a rebel platform that I think is worth a look. Microsoft is
pushing the envelope on the breadth of things a console can support and
variety in the user interface, while Nvidia is creating a device focused
on gaming in a wide variety of modes.

Galaxy S4's Camera Wins Shootout With iPhones
The Samsung Galaxy S4's rear-facing camera beats those in the iPhone 5
and 4S as well as other Samsung smartphones, according to a report from
digital image specialists DxO Lab. The 13 MP GS4 camera tallied an
overall DxOMark score of 75, while the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, Galaxy Note
II and Galaxy S III all scored 72. First place was taken by the Nokia
808 PureView.
