Airbnb Declares No Vacancies for Anonymity
Authentication requirements for some travelers looking for shared
accommodations around the world will be getting a little tougher. Airbnb
-- which allows people to list, discover and book unique accommodations
through a sharing model -- announced Tuesday that it will be asking for
more personal information from U.S. consumers who want to use its
services.

Buggy Install, No Support Take the Lead Out of Pencil
Pencil is an advanced drawing and animation tool that creates
traditional, hand-drawn 2D animations and static sketches. Think of this
animation/drawing application as an Etch A Sketch with colored sand on
steroids. Pencil creates both bitmap and vector images. Finished
animations can be exported as PNG images. Animated sketches can be
exported in several handy Flash or Movie file formats.

IBM Builds Traffic Cop for Internet of Things
IBM on Monday launched MessageSight, an appliance designed to handle
machine-to-machine communications of the future. Such communications
will develop exponentially to create what's known as the "Internet of
Things." In announcing MessageSight, IBM cited a 2010 report that
predicted more than 22 billion Web-connected devices by 2020, which will
generate more than 2.5 quintillion bytes of new data daily.

BlackBerry's Heins Gives Tablets 5 Years to Live
BlackBerry CEO Thorstein Heins made some bold claims on Monday. For one,
he predicted a big turnaround for the company, suggesting that
BlackBerry could once again become the absolute leader in mobile
computing. What raised more eyebrows, though, was Heins' prediction that
in five years, tablets might be out.
