Ubuntu OS wins Best in Show The international expo about all things mobile, also known as Mobile World Congress, wrapped up today in Barcelona, Spain. Plenty of notable handsets were unveiled during the week, including the Asus PadFone, an LTE smartphone that can be docked and "transformed" into a 10.1-inch tablet. But what really impressed us was the elegant and intuitive new mobile OS, Ubuntu Touch. Though its developer, Canonical, is still in talks with manufacturers and carriers, you can preview it on current Nexus devices before its slated October release. But just because it has an uncompromising exterior, it doesn't make compromises on the inside. It has a chunky dual-core 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and a 4-inch screen. | | Huawei Ascend P2 The Ascend P2 is Huawei's next step in its mission to advance its Android presence worldwide. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with Huawei's Emotion UI on top. It features a 4.7-inch, 720p HD display with a 315-pixel density and promises high contrast for outdoor legibility and an 85-degree viewing angle. | | | | |
