AT&T's Take on Shifting Cloud Challenges and Opportunities (33:23)
AT&T has been in the hosting business for more than a decade, but it has
adapted that part of its portfolio thanks to the rapid demand for
cloud-based services. The telecom giant is now taking a range of
offerings to the cloud -- infrastructure, virtual private networks,
storage, platforms -- based on what businesses of all stripes have been
asking for from network providers.

Today's Story Highlights

Thruster Problem Pushes SpaceX Capsule Off Schedule
Private spaceflight company SpaceX's Friday launch of a Dragon capsule
ran into problems shortly after it separated from its Falcon 9 rocket,
and the resulting delays could move a planned docking with the
International Space Station from Saturday to Sunday. "Issue with Dragon
thruster pods," SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted shortly after the morning
launch.

Exploring the New World of Travel Apps
When Richard Rygg, the cofounder of HipGeo, sailed with his family last
year through the islands of French Polynesia, he used his company's app
to document the experience. The result is a multimedia blog complete
with a GPS track of his adventure, and a collection of dozens of geo-
tagged photos of sunsets, beaches and bays.

China Returns US Cyberattack Volley
What, China was just going to say nothing? On the heels of a report that
China's military has for years been engaging in cyberespionage against
the U.S., China's Ministry of Defense claimed that a pair of its
military websites were attacked more than 100,000 times per month in
2012.

OruxMaps Lets You Go as Far as Your Mapmaking Skill Takes You
Have you ever considered becoming a cartographer? It's not as hard as
you might think. I've been trying out OruxMaps, a map viewer for Android
that functions two ways. One mode is online with the usual suspects like
Google maps, OpenStreetMap, and so on; the second and more intriguing
method is offline with maps you've created yourself. Creating your own
maps, while not hard, is a project.

Copyright Alert System: Six Strikes and You're Annoyed
Several major ISPs are beginning this week to implement the
long-promised Six Strikes system designed to rein in online pirates.
This kinder, gentler approach is unlikely to trigger the kind of wrath
the entertainment industry's lawsuits did a decade ago, but it may not
curb illegal file-sharing to any great extent either.
