Today's Story Highlights

Android Flaw Could Empty Bitcoin Wallets
Android device owners who use Bitcoins may have their digital currency
stolen because of a security flaw in Android, the Bitcoin Foundation has
warned. The problem may lie in Android's implementation of the
java.security.SecureRandom application programming interface in Java. It
was first publicized by Nils Schneider in January. "This is a serious
issue," remarked ABI's Michela Menting.

So, Is Microsoft Trying to Kill the Xbox One?
There's another video game console fight coming, and Microsoft's Xbox
One has a hard act to follow as it joins the fray. The Xbox 360 has been
outselling both the Nintendo and Sony consoles for some time now. I'm
guessing Microsoft felt it had an unfair advantage, because it
apparently has been doing its level best to scare gamers away from the
Xbox One ever since it was announced.

What if Apple Holds a Launch Event and Nobody Cares?
Sept. 10 reportedly is the day Apple will unveil its latest iPhone.
Although there have been some apparently well-founded leaks, Apple has
not confirmed anything. It hasn't said whether it will be launching an
iPhone 5S or a 5C, as rumored. It has not even confirmed the Sept. 10
launch date. Despite the radio silence on Apple's part, there's been no
shortage of speculation.

Russia to Host Snowden Family Reunion
Lon Snowden, the father of famed leaker Edward Snowden, and the family's
lawyer have obtained visas to travel to Russia, where Edward Snowden has
been granted temporary asylum as the U.S. seeks to extradite him on
federal charges. Speaking on ABC News' This Week, the senior Snowden and
the lawyer did not divulge many details of the trip.

Dialogue's Great if You Love the Sound of Your Own Voice
Dialogue is a new app in the Mac OS X App Store that lets you place and
answer smartphone calls on your Mac. So why do you need to take calls on
your Mac when an iPhone is already super portable? Sometimes your iPhone
is stuck in a pocket or inside a backpack, bag or purse. I mean, not my
purse -- I never put my iPhone in my purse. Still, the phone isn't
always handy.

Knotty Problem Solved in Pursuit of Data Storage Breakthrough
Researchers at the University of Hamburg have, for the first time,
written and deleted data on single hypothetical particles called
"skyrmions." Skyrmions have been reported to exist in thin magnetic
films and superconductors, among other things, but this has not been
conclusively proven. Their use could solve the problem of coping with
the increasing demands for storage on electronic devices.
