Brinno TLC200 – Time Lapse Photography Fun!

I love photography, it’s a fabulous hobby. I can usually be found behind the lens, snapping shots of the goings on at almost every event or party. I’ve always wanted to dabble in time lapse photography and capture a snow storm or the changing of the leaves in the fall, but it always seemed to be just a little to0 difficult. I also wanted to do some claymation type stop-action films with my daughter, but for maximum fun, the easier the better.

So I’m checking out the Brinno TLC200 designed to make time lapse and stop-action photography fun and simple, the Brinno still packs some flexibility to change lenses and set appropriate time intervals to catch all the time lapse action that you want, and it has an optional shutter release to turn you into a professional stop-action film maker. It’s battery life is solid, with months of life, allowing you to capture up to 300,000 pics, or an entire season of changes, an important remodeling project, or maybe even the growth of your prize-winning pumpkin.

The Brinno has a color LCD preview screen allowing you to easily set your scenes, it can be mounted on a tripod, or just set on a flat surface, it also has a wide angle lens available if you wanted one for your specific application. The Brinno TLC200 uses 4xAA batteries and it stores all your shots on an SD card (supports up to 32GB). So no messing with your existing camera, no complicated set-ups, or specialized time controllers. Simply set your time, and press go. Get the Brinno, and let the fun begin. Right around 135 bucks at amazon.com.

Energy Gummi Bears are a tasty substitute for your energy drinks

There are times in most people’s lives when they need to spend more hours working than are available to them. This usually leads to cutting into your sleep hours, just to get some extra work done. If you start to do that enough, you’ll also notice that your morning cup of coffee just isn’t cutting it anymore. Soon you can’t be found without an espresso in your hands, just to keep your eyes open. That’s when you turn to the evils of energy drinks. But what if you’re too embarrassed to carry around a Red Bull or Monster everywhere you go?

If you want to discreetly ingest caffeine and other eye-opening substances throughout the day, why not turn to these Energy Gummi Bears? Each bag of these chewy little bears has 32mg of natural caffeine, along with Guarana, Taurine, and other energy-boosting ingredients.

You can pick up a single pack for $2, or get yourself a 5-pack for just $8. They only come in citrus blast flavor, so there’s no variety to look forward to. Of course, you’ll be so tired and jacked up on energy-boosting elements that you won’t even notice the taste. Just remember to always keep a bag of regular gummy bears on-hand, for when your friends ask for one.

Leef Bridge USB flash drive

What happens when you want to transfer a file from a USB flash drive over to your smartphone or tablet? Most of the time, we would hook up the smartphone or tablet to a computer, and likewise, do the same for the USB flash drive, before we open up the relevant windows and perform the file transfer. If only there was no need for a middleman, or in this case, a middle device, life would be a whole lot more convenient, don't you think so? This is the particular niche that the Leef Bridge USB flash drive intends to fill, where it not only comes with a full sized USB connector, it also comes alongside a microUSB connector.

The latter makes it extremely easy to connect the Leef Bridge USB flash drive into a smartphone or tablet, where all that is required of you would be to slide out the segment that you want to use, while the case of the Leef Bridge USB flash drive will offer protection to the other end. Of course, one should take this into consideration that not all Android-powered devices that have a microUSB port will be compatible with the Leef Bridge, as some of these ports are meant for charging purposes only, so make sure your device has USB OTG (On The Go) compatibility in the first place. Expect the Leef Bridge USB flash drive to arrive in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, where the first two models will retail for $17.99 and $28.99, respectively.

Meteor smartwatch by Kreyos

When it comes to the smartwatch industry, you could say that this is still a young market which is relatively untapped, but finding the correct killer combination of hardware as well as software is the secret recipe that has yet to be discovered. Sure, Android has their champion in the form of the Pebble timepiece, and there are also whispers that Apple might come up with an iOS-powered iWatch. Still, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush, which is why the Meteor smartwatch by Kreyos is an interesting proposition. It is an Indiegogo project at the moment, and will play nice with Apple's iOS, while boasting voice and gesture control support to boot.

The Meteor will feature a three-axis gyro, carry an accelerometer and other motion sensors which are capable of detecting things like wrist motion. The wrist motion detection can be customized so that you will be able to effect the right response with a movement which you are most comfortable with. Voice control would also come in handy during those moments when both of your hands are occupied.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra carries the Snapdragon 800 banner proud and high

Sony Mobile has really done their part to pull themselves up from being an ordinary smartphone manufacturer to one who has beautiful and brilliant designs, this I cannot deny. Ever since they split from the Ericsson merger, Sony Mobile's concerted efforts have proved to be drool worthy, and their newer flagship models are always a step in the right direction. The recently announced Sony Xperia Z Ultra is set to wow plenty of people, where it boasts of being the slimmest
and largest Full HD smartphone display in the world, sporting a Galaxy Note 2-challenging 6.4" Full HD TRILUMINOS display that is powered by X-Reality for mobile engine, ensuring your eyeballs are in for a treat.

Not only that, the entire Xperia Z Ultra has been carefully crafted to come in an ultra slim body which measures just 6.5mm thin, and it also conforms to waterproof and dust-resistant (IP55/IP58) standards. Running proceedings from within would be a speedy quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, alongside LTE support for blazing fast performance. Not only that, the Xperia Z Ultra allows you to write and sketch on it using any pencil, with the option to use a selected stylus or pen to boot.

Sony claims that there is also the Battery STAMINA Mode which ought to help owners of the Xperia Z Ultra extend its daily use, considering the relatively high power consumption required by the various hardware specifications of the smartphone itself. This unique Battery STAMINA Mode would be able to detect when the phone is not in use, and shut down the various apps that are idle in order to conserve juice. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice, the Xperia Z Ultra comes with an 8-megapixel shooter that does Full HD video recording, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, NFC support, 16GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot.

Samsung Galaxy NX camera announced

Samsung does not only churn out brilliant smartphones (in recent years, anyways. Anyone who has used the early iterations of mobile phones from Samsung would know just how much of a recycled plastic feel there was in the beginning), but they have also moved on to other segments of the consumer electronics industry – including the realm of digital cameras. This time around, the Samsung Galaxy NX has been announced, where it holds the distinction of being the first 3G/4G LTE connected Compact System Camera (CSC). Samsung claims that it is versatile and easy to use, where the Galaxy NX would merge cutting edge optical performance with connectivity capabilities, in addition to having a slew of applications that will be able to run on an Android eco-system, where it is all crammed into a single, stylish package.

With the Galaxy NX camera being hooked up to the Internet all the time (as long as there is a signal, of course), you need not worry about your photos getting lost, ever again. After all, each photo that is taken will be uploaded to the cloud for safe storage. It does not matter whether you are on the move or at home, the Galaxy NXs’ seamless connectivity will be able to transcend the current offering to photographers. Not only that, you can also follow up on the trail of other shutterbugs who have gone before you, as the Photo Suggest feature would offer location based recommendations of popular photography spots, and all of these recommendations have been sourced from a huge library of images which were snapped by fellow photographers prior.

The Samsung Galaxy NX would pack in a 20.3-megapixel APS-C Sensor that is said to deliver bright and detailed images, even in low light conditions, where it will be accompanied by the DRIMe IV Image Signal Processor, achieving speed and accuracy levels which today’s photographers demand. Not only that, it also boasts of an Advanced Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) System, a 1/6000 sec shutter speed, a bevy of Interchangeable Lenses to choose from, all running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the platform of choice. There is no word on pricing just yet though, but it should arrive sometime in the third quarter of the year.

JAN Table lets your dinner table double as a soccer goal

When I was a kid, there were a few important rules in my house. One of them was not to throw or kick balls inside the house. While it might have bothered my brother and I on rainy days, it was a rule that made a lot of sense. There were many more things to break inside the house, than outside. But what if you’re brave enough to encourage your kid to play sports inside? You’ll need the right furniture to accommodate them.

The JAN Table was designed to look and function as a soccer (or football, if you’re from anywhere but the US) goal. Sure, it’s not exactly regulation size, but that would be a little hard to eat off of. It sits at two and a half feet high, and a little over four feet long, which is plenty of room to have a little bit of target practice with a ball.

The tables are all hand-made using entirely reclaimed wood, natural products, and eco-friendly processes. The tables come in two different color schemes. Both have a natural wood color on top, but one has a black and white goal, while the other is red and white. Each will set you back around $850, though you may want to set aside a little extra money to cover the broken items that you’ll find in the room at some point.

Undercover Mouse – Catch Me if you Can!

I don’t like to involve myself in choosing dog or cat person sides. I happen to love almost all animals, and I do have a cat. Cats are definitely more independent , and unlike a dog they seem to spend a lot of time doing nothing at all. I like to try and find some things that might get old Max up and off the sofa.

Well, check out Undercover Mouse, an ingenious little faux mouse under a cloth that mimics the real deal. Undercover Mouse moves pretty quickly and his movements are actually random, he slows down and speeds up and he can even reverse direction just out of your kitty’s view, under his durable nylon cover. The movements look like they would peak any cats interest, and in my house they did.

Undercover Mouse was more than enough to get Max moving, and for almost an hour he pounced and swatted in an attempt to capture the elusive critter, even trying to pull a few “look at me, I’m walking away” moves, only to turn and pounce right back on the mouse.

Undercover Mouse uses AA batteries and be forewarned, they do get used up rather quickly so rechargeable ones may be your best bet, and depending on the “hunting” style of your cat it may not be as durable as I would like, but for around 30 bucks it made for some comedic entertainment, for the cat, and for any spectators who happened to be around! Undercover Mouse is available from amazon.com. Here, kitty kitty…
